Description

tabl brings the tidyverse verbs to the command line as a single small binary: filter, select, mutate, arrange, groupby/summarize, count, distinct, joins, and tidyr-style pivotlonger/pivot_wider. It reads TSV (plain or gzipped, file or stdin), writes TSV to stdout, and chains with ordinary shell pipes.

Grouping is hashed rather than sorted, so input never needs pre-sorting; --grouped switches to constant-memory adjacency grouping for data that is already grouped, as bedtools groupby expects. One small expression language is shared across filter/mutate/summarize, with R's NA semantics.

The only dependency is zlib.
