Package Name Access Summary Updated
r-formula public Infrastructure for extended formulas with multiple parts on the right-hand side and/or multiple responses on the left-hand side (see <DOI:10.18637/jss.v034.i01>). 2025-03-25
r-formatr public Provides a function tidy_source() to format R source code. Spaces and indent will be added to the code automatically, and comments will be preserved under certain conditions, so that R code will be more human-readable and tidy. There is also a Shiny app as a user interface in this package (see tidy_app()). 2025-03-25
r-forge public Helper functions with a consistent interface to coerce and verify the types and shapes of values for input checking. 2025-03-25
r-foreach public Support for the foreach looping construct. Foreach is an idiom that allows for iterating over elements in a collection, without the use of an explicit loop counter. This package in particular is intended to be used for its return value, rather than for its side effects. In that sense, it is similar to the standard lapply function, but doesn't require the evaluation of a function. Using foreach without side effects also facilitates executing the loop in parallel. 2025-03-25
r-fontquiver public Provides a set of fonts with permissive licences. This is useful when you want to avoid system fonts to make sure your outputs are reproducible. 2025-03-25
r-fontliberation public A placeholder for the Liberation fontset intended for the `fontquiver` package. This fontset covers the 12 combinations of families (sans, serif, mono) and faces (plain, bold, italic, bold italic) supported in R graphics devices. 2025-03-25
r-fontcm public Computer Modern font for use with extrafont package 2025-03-25
r-fontbitstreamvera public Provides fonts licensed under the 'Bitstream Vera Fonts' license for the 'fontquiver' package. 2025-03-25
r-fmstable public This package implements some basic procedures for dealing with log maximally skew stable distributions, which are also called finite moment log stable distributions. 2025-03-25
r-flexmix public A general framework for finite mixtures of regression models using the EM algorithm is implemented. The E-step and all data handling are provided, while the M-step can be supplied by the user to easily define new models. Existing drivers implement mixtures of standard linear models, generalized linear models and model-based clustering. 2025-03-25
r-flashclust public Fast implementation of hierarchical clustering 2025-03-25
r-fit.models public The fit.models function and its associated methods (coefficients, print, summary, plot, etc.) were originally provided in the robust package to compare robustly and classically fitted model objects. The aim of the fit.models package is to separate this fitted model object comparison functionality from the robust package and to extend it to support fitting methods (e.g., classical, robust, Bayesian, regularized, etc.) more generally. 2025-03-25
r-fimport public Provides a collection of utility functions to download and manage data sets from the Internet or from other sources. 2025-03-25
r-fda public These functions were developed to support functional data analysis as described in Ramsay, J. O. and Silverman, B. W. (2005) Functional Data Analysis. New York: Springer. They were ported from earlier versions in Matlab and S-PLUS. An introduction appears in Ramsay, J. O., Hooker, Giles, and Graves, Spencer (2009) Functional Data Analysis with R and Matlab (Springer). The package includes data sets and script files working many examples including all but one of the 76 figures in this latter book. Matlab versions of the code and sample analyses are no longer distributed through CRAN, as they were when the book was published. For those, ftp from <http://www.psych.mcgill.ca/misc/fda/downloads/FDAfuns/> There you find a set of .zip files containing the functions and sample analyses, as well as two .txt files giving instructions for installation and some additional information. The changes from Version 2.4.1 are fixes of bugs in density.fd and removal of functions create.polynomial.basis, polynompen, and polynomial. These were deleted because the monomial basis does the same thing and because there were errors in the code. 2025-03-25
r-fauxpas public HTTP error helpers. Methods included for general purpose HTTP error handling, as well as individual methods for every HTTP status code, both via status code numbers as well as their descriptive names. Supports ability to adjust behavior to stop, message or warning. Includes ability to use custom whisker template to have any configuration of status code, short description, and verbose message. Currently supports integration with 'crul', 'curl', and 'httr'. 2025-03-25
r-extrafontdb public Package for holding the database for the extrafont package 2025-03-25
r-extrafont public Tools to using fonts other than the standard PostScript fonts. This package makes it easy to use system TrueType fonts and with PDF or PostScript output files, and with bitmap output files in Windows. extrafont can also be used with fonts packaged specifically to be used with, such as the fontcm package, which has Computer Modern PostScript fonts with math symbols. See https://github.com/wch/extrafont for instructions and examples. 2025-03-25
r-exposition public A variety of descriptive multivariate analyses with the singular value decomposition, such as principal components analysis, correspondence analysis, and multidimensional scaling. See An ExPosition of the Singular Value Decomposition in R (Beaton et al 2014) <doi:10.1016/j.csda.2013.11.006>. 2025-03-25
r-evaluate public Parsing and evaluation tools that make it easy to recreate the command line behaviour of R. 2025-03-25
r-estimability public Provides tools for determining estimability of linear functions of regression coefficients, and 'epredict' methods that handle non-estimable cases correctly. Estimability theory is discussed in many linear-models textbooks including Chapter 3 of Monahan, JF (2008), "A Primer on Linear Models", Chapman and Hall (ISBN 978-1-4200-6201-4). 2025-03-25
r-entropy public This package implements various estimators of entropy, such as the shrinkage estimator by Hausser and Strimmer, the maximum likelihood and the Millow-Madow estimator, various Bayesian estimators, and the Chao-Shen estimator. It also offers an R interface to the NSB estimator. Furthermore, it provides functions for estimating Kullback-Leibler divergence, chi-squared, mutual information, and chi-squared statistic of independence. In addition there are functions for discretizing continuous random variables. 2025-03-25
r-english public Allow numbers to be presented in an English language version, one, two, three, ... Ordinals are also available, first, second, third, ... 2025-03-25
r-emulator public Allows one to estimate the output of a computer program, as a function of the input parameters, without actually running it. The computer program is assumed to be a Gaussian process, whose parameters are estimated using Bayesian techniques that give a PDF of expected program output. This PDF is conditional on a training set of runs, each consisting of a point in parameter space and the model output at that point. The emphasis is on complex codes that take weeks or months to run, and that have a large number of undetermined input parameters; many climate prediction models fall into this class. The emulator essentially determines Bayesian posterior estimates of the PDF of the output of a model, conditioned on results from previous runs and a user-specified prior linear model. A vignette is provided and the help pages include examples. 2025-03-25
r-emmeans public Obtain estimated marginal means (EMMs) for many linear, generalized linear, and mixed models. Compute contrasts or linear functions of EMMs, trends, and comparisons of slopes. Plots and compact letter displays. Least-squares means are discussed, and the term "estimated marginal means" is suggested, in Searle, Speed, and Milliken (1980) Population marginal means in the linear model: An alternative to least squares means, The American Statistician 34(4), 216-221 <doi:10.1080/00031305.1980.10483031>. 2025-03-25
r-elliptic public A suite of elliptic and related functions including Weierstrass and Jacobi forms. Also includes various tools for manipulating and visualizing complex functions. 2025-03-25
