ncurses is a free software emulation of the System V Release 4.0 curses library that provides an API for writing text-based user interfaces in a terminal-independent manner. This package contains various command-line utilities provided with the ncurses library. They are separated from the core ncurses package largely to avoid potential conflicts with their counterparts normally supplied by the end users' OS.
